Care: how to care for your Wool product (see below)

Brief Clan History

The name derives from a Gaelic phrase denoting fair hero, and the clan flourished for centuries indifferent areas of Scotland, particularly Loch Lomond and Braemar. Resolute in its defence of Scotlands freedom and independence it was an ancestor of the MacKinleys of today who carried the Scottish Royal Standard at the battle of Pinkie Cleugh in 1547 and who was among the Scots dead.

Lennox was the home of this family who claim descent from Finlay, son of Buchanan of Drumkill. In Gaelic the name is MacFhionnlaigh, meaning son of Finlay, or Finlayson. Little is known regarding them, but during the Irish plantation of the 17th century, some MacKinlays are said to have settled in Ulster where the name appears as Macginlay.

People of the name were fairly numerous in the Glasgow area and near Loch Lomond, and some are found further north. William MacKinlay, President of the United States of America, was descended from David MacKinlay, an Ulster Scot.

How to wash

In the first instance we recommend dry cleaning all wool products.

If you wish wash by hand or by machine please do not wring the item, or allow the item to float free in a washing machine. when using a machine always place your product in a pillow case so that it does not tangle or loose its shape.

By hand wash gently using luke warm water and when drying taking great care to ensure that the item is placed flat on a towel for it to dry. This way the product will keep its shape and its softness, and look as new as when first bought.
Always use a recommended wool detergent ie Woolite.
