Care: how to care for your Wool product (see below)

Brief Clan History

One the great clans of the Scottish lowlands, the name comes from the barony of Crawford, in Upper Clydesdale, Lanarkshire, that was granted to one its ancestor between 1105 and 1110.

Lands also acquired in Ayrshire and Renfrewshire, and the clan played a key role at pivotal points in Scotlands long and colourful history.

Clan Crawford is a Scottish clan recognised by the Court of the Lord Lyon, which is the heraldic authority of Scotland. The clan does not a have a chief recognised by the Lord Lyon King of Arms, is considered an armigerous clan.

Clan Crawford is considered armigerous because Crawfords are matriculated with the Lyon Court as armigers. The last internally recognised chief was Hugh Ronald George Craufurd, who sold his land (Auchenames, Crosbie and other estates) and moved to Canada in 1904. He died in Calgary in 1942, leaving no male heirs.

How to wash

In the first instance we recommend dry cleaning all wool products.

If you wish wash by hand or by machine please do not wring the item, or allow the item to float free in a washing machine. when using a machine always place your product in a pillow case so that it does not tangle or loose its shape.

By hand wash gently using luke warm water and when drying taking great care to ensure that the item is placed flat on a towel for it to dry. This way the product will keep its shape and its softness, and look as new as when first bought.
Always use a recommended wool detergent ie Woolite.
